The aim of the Brighton & Hove Adult Learning Strategy is to ensure an inclusive and high quality offer of learning is made available to all adults in the city, whilst focusing resources on disadvantaged communities and those residents with few or no qualifications. The strategy covers five themes relating to Adult Learning and forms a major part of the broader agenda to reduce inequalities, social exclusion and disadvantage by providing access to learning, skills, volunteering and employment. It links to many priorities outlined in Creating the City of Opportunities’ strategy, Joining The Dots; a triple impact volunteering strategy for Brighton & Hove 2010-2015; and The Community Engagement Framework. There are two operational groups which are subgroups of the ALG: The Operations Team for Community Learning (OTCL) and the Skills For Life Forum (SKiFL).
